The Brazilian Journal of Dentistry and Oral Radiology (BJDOR) is a fully open-access journal, meaning that all published content is immediately and freely available to readers without subscription or paywall barriers.

The journal supports international Open Science principles, promoting transparency, inclusiveness, equitable access to knowledge, and wide dissemination of research in dentistry and oral radiology. Its editorial model follows internationally recognized best practices for open scholarly publishing and indexing.

provided that appropriate credit is given to the original authors, source, and journal.

Author rights

Authors retain copyright to their work. By submitting and publishing in the journal, they agree that the article will be released under the CC BY 4.0 license, ensuring broad dissemination and responsible reuse.

No access fees

BJDOR does not charge readers any fees for accessing its content. All articles are permanently available to the public without subscriptions, paywalls, or mandatory registration.

Digital preservation

To ensure long-term accessibility and preservation of scholarly content, BJDOR follows digital archiving policies and uses recognized electronic preservation systems and trusted repositories, which may include distributed preservation networks and permanent publication registries.

Self-archiving policy

Authors are encouraged to deposit:

  • preprints prior to submission, and/or

  • published versions (postprints) after publication

in institutional or subject repositories, personal websites, or open academic platforms without embargo, provided that the official publication in BJDOR is properly cited.
